1. Kuranda Scenic Railway

The KURANDA SCENIC RAILWAY in Australia is just as its name implies very beautiful and scenic but the joys of the spectacular views are tempered as the train passes through the BARRON GORGE. This NATIONAL PARK still has most of the original framework. This is not repaired as often as should be and makes for a very interesting ride. Most tourists still think that it is worth the fear factor and enjoy the ride especially the pass underneath the splendid waterfalls.
2. ARGO GEDE in Indonesia

The ARGO GEDE in Indonesia takes a 3 hour long trip from Jakarta to Bandung. The view is resplendent with the greenish mountain tapestry, the river valleys and a pass over the Cikurutug high bridge that is magnificent. Although the accident of 2002 created a sensation as there were no victims the journey is still being made by hundreds of thousands each year.
3. OUTENIQUA CHOO-TJOE Railway

We now move to South Africa and the OUTENIQUA CHOO-TJOE TRAIN. From its inception in 1908 this railway system has been plagued with accidents. 4. CUMBRES & TOLTEC RAILROAD in New Mexico

New Mexico has been plagued with misery since the 1880’s dealing with this rail system. Departing from Chama Far this trains performs near acrobatic feats as it attempts to wind its way through frame after frame of old track, pass the narrow ledge of the 800 foot Park Toltec against winds atop the 10,015 high Cumbres Pass.
5. TREN A LAS NUBES

Argentina has the TREN A LAS NUBES with its 13 bridges and 21 tunnel passages will give even the stout hearted a moments pause. It travels from Salta to La Polvorilla and was under construction for 27 years having been approved in 1921, the work was not complete until 1948.
6. Lynton And Lynmouth

The United Kingdom has its share of rail troubles but the roller coaster feeling of the LYNTON AND LYNMOUTH is what has it squarely in the center of this list. It travels the outside perimeter of some steep 500 feet cliffs it is enough to make you air sick on land.
7. White Pass & Yukon Route

America is not at all immune to the most dangerous list since the WHITE PASS & YUKON ROUTE in Alaska was built and utilized during the gold rush of 1898 it has been scaring the life out of diggers and passengers alike. Although there may not be gold to be found there any longer more than 450.000 tourist flock to this scenic area each year to get a feel of what the miners had to have experienced.
8. Chennai-Rameswaram Route

To reach Rameswaram at the southern coast of India would be next to impossible if not for the CHENNAI-RAMESWARAM ROUTE that takes you literally across the Pamban channel. The line was built right through a wind tunnel where the whirlwinds seem to never cease. Rameswaram is an island that is located on the coast of Tamil Nadu
9. The Georgetown Loop Railroad

This was built in the late 19th century to accommodate the settlers arriving to work the silver mines at this time period steam engines was the only way to reach up into the Rockies. The Devil’s Gate High Bridge is 100 feet tall and when the train has a full load it sputters up the grade as if it can barely hang on.
10. The Japanese Railway
